Hi All! I wanted to share with everyone the extremely successful candy drive we had this year. Not only did girls and troops donate, but we shared info on our community service project with our schools, workplaces and local Cub Scouts (pack 72). Please see the attached photo of the 275 pounds of candy that we shipped to Operation Gratitude, who will send the candy to soldiers overseas.

Girl Scouts - Holiday Show December 7th
Hi everyone. In our last meeting, the girls planned their
holiday show for the upcoming visit to Roosevelt Care Center
on December 7th. They did a great job! There is a mix of
holiday songs, dancing, and music - we cannot wait to see
it. All girls should wear a red shirt on December 7th. We
will provide Santa hats.
Attached is the full show program and the script that we
wrote for the event. Each girl either introduces a song or
some part of the show. Please print out the script and
review with your daughter. Most of the girls know the songs
by heart but I included the words just in case :)
Here are a few reminders:
Jingle Bells - Isabelle, Jessica, Kylie, Nyla - please bring
bells to ring during song
That Power - Annaliese, Gianna, Isabelle, Ruby - Send music
via email to put on the master CD
Groove Machine - Emily, Zahira - need anything?
Jingle Bells (recorders) - Amanda, Gianna, Makena, Nyla -
please practice at home and bring recorder day of show
12 Days of Christmas - This will be a skit similar to this
YouTube video sample except we will use the traditional
lyrics, not the religious ones. Parts were chosen randomly.
Each girl/pair will have a sign with their "day" item on it
for the skit. Please show your girl this video so she has
an idea of how our skit will go. Link:

Thank you and if you have any questions, please let us know.
See everyone on December 7th. Have a great Thanksgiving!
Best,
Andrea, Dawn, Erica & Lisajoy

Girl Scout Meeting 11/16 Recap
Hi everyone - thanks for a great meeting! Here is a recap
of what we did plus some reminders. Kindly review all of
the details.
Operation Gratitude Candy Collection - WOW! We collected
over 8 large boxes worth of candy to drop off for the
Operation Gratitude collection. I had planned to weigh it
so we could tell the girls how many pounds of candy we
collected, but it is just too much to take out of my car to
weigh! :) We also have 27 cards/letters for our soldiers
overseas. Thank you for your participation. Each girl
received a special blue "Girl Scouts GIVE back" patch which
can be added to the BACK of their uniform.
Troop Holiday Performance - On Saturday, December 7th @
1:45pm we will be visiting the Roosevelt Care Center to do a
fun holiday performance for their residence. Girls should
wear a red shirt and their uniform. We will have Santa hats
for them. We will send out the schedule/program for the
Troop Holiday Performance in a few days so everyone can
begin practicing :) Erica will be collecting RSVPs for this
event in case anyone cannot attend.
Troop Holiday Party - On Sunday, December 15th @ 1:00pm we
will have our Troop Holiday Party. Please bring a $15
Secret Santa gift (wrapped with no name on card). Girls
should wear red. Erica will be collecting RSVPs for this
event.
Junior's Bronze Award Project - We spent about 30 minutes
talking about the upcoming Bronze Award Project. The Girl
Scout Bronze Award is the highest honor a Junior Girl Scout
(4th and 5th grade girls) can achieve. The award is earned
by completing a troop community service project run by the
girls (not the mom's) :) Attached are the project check
list and the time log sheet in case your Junior misplaced
hers or you want to review. All girls in the troop will
participate in the fun (its going to be a really fun party!)
however, the Juniors will be asked to do the majority of the
work. Girls were asked to start a notebook for Girl Scouts.
They should keep their check list and time log in the
notebook and use the notebook to start jotting down ideas
about the project.
Cookie Sale - Starts January 16 and ends February 23rd.
Dawn is our troop cookie mom and will be sending out details
as it gets closer. Plan ahead for both individual sales to
family/friends as well as participation in troop cookie
booths. More info coming soon!
Calendar - over the next few weeks we will be publishing the
calendar for January through March. Stay tuned - we have
some very exciting things planned :)
A few general reminders for all of us:
- Girls should not use phones/electronics at Girl Scouts
- Girls should always wear the green shirt, unless told
otherwise
- Girls should bring a snack and drink to every meeting,
even if not reminded
Thank you and if you have any questions, please let us know.

Cookie College 2014
See attached flyer for Cookie College :). It sounds like a really fun event. We will not participate as a whole troop but this would be fantastic for girls to attend, especially the new and/or younger ones. See attached. Register direct via the website. Enjoy!

Hello everyone. Just a reminder that our next Girl Scout

updated time will be 3:00 to 4:30 (not 5:00).
Things to bring / reminders:
#1 - Girls should bring excess Halloween candy as donation
plus a card/letter (make at home) for the soldiers over
seas. Girls that bring both candy and a card/letter will

#2 - We need some sturdy boxes to collect all of the candy.
If you can bring boxes (large brown and/or copier paper
boxes would be great!) - we would appreciate it.
#3 - Each girl needs their own single subject notebook or
composition book that they will use to plan and make notes
for the Bronze Award project.
#4 - Wear troop green t-shirt and uniform plus bring a snack
and drink to every meeting, even if I forget to mention :)
Thank you and if you have any questions, please let us know.
